For me travel is life, like breathing. From my home in the Cape to Cairo, Abidjan to Zanzibar, into the Middle East, Europe and Asia, I am a modern day nomad. With about 50 countries visited to date, these stories are told on blogs and websites, and in over 3 000 magazine feature articles spanning over 20 years. As the author of four wildlife coffee table books, the natural environment is also a great passion. In between, I update various travel guidebooks, do regular travel programmes on national radio and write websites for game lodges and tourism-related businesses.
Previously an award-winning editor on various South African lifestyle, travel and wildlife publications, I have worked freelance since 2001 and in that time published articles in over 100 magazine titles. Every day, I still wake up to write or to travel and my greatest wish is to inspire you through stories to pack your bags and allow the travel bug to bite. Then you too will: “Throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain
